Nele with an NSTR
Tell us a little about yourself. How did you come to NSTR by LivEye?
I am 26 years old and a trained industrial mechanic. In my career, I have already worked with various employers. My partner, who works here as an IT specialist, told me a lot of positive things about the company – especially about the young team and the modern way of working. That motivated me to apply at NSTR. My current supervisor also played a big role in my decision. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I had a good feeling.
What were your first impressions in production?
It was a completely new experience for me. During my training, I worked in a forge with huge machines. In comparison, the work atmosphere at NSTR is much more pleasant and less bureaucratic than in my previous job. Here, I can organize my tasks largely independently, and the team is very supportive.
Was there anything that particularly surprised you?
I was surprised that the production process at NSTR was not yet 100% refined when I started. At the same time, I found it great that my ideas and suggestions for improvement were heard and partially even implemented. That is not something you take for granted! I particularly like that I can take on many tasks myself and work creatively. The work atmosphere is really great.
What does your workday look like?
My day starts with a cup of coffee. After that, I unpack the necessary components and assemble them in a specific order. Subsequently, our team hands over the wired parts to the IT department. After that, I check the assembled components against a checklist. If material is missing, I prepare assemblies or conduct a mini-inventory to determine future needs.
What makes a good team, in your opinion?
A strong team understands each other without many words and supports each other. One should not only get along well on a professional level but also on a personal level. That is exactly what I experience at NSTR. The open exchange with my colleagues and my supervisor contributes to a smooth collaboration.
Have there been challenges you have already mastered?
One of my biggest challenges was to overcome my previous anxiety before work. I no longer have this problem at NSTR. Additionally, I can talk openly about mistakes here without fearing negative consequences. Mechanically speaking, the work was easy for me as I received good training.
What motivates you every day anew?
Definitely the product from NSTR! There are always new challenges that I need to dive into. The variety and the opportunity to work creatively motivate me daily.
Do you have a tip for newcomers in production?
Yes, absolutely: keep calm and don't be afraid to ask questions. Especially during onboarding, it is important to take your time and get to know the processes. It's also helpful to approach colleagues openly – this greatly eases the entry.
If you had to describe NSTR in three words, what would they be?
Innovative, future-oriented, and unique!
